There is an alley in Ann Arbor, Michigan which is noted for its graffiti. I was wandering around town recently and decided to see if there was anything new to be found. To my surprise, there was this bike just laying on the ground but it had been painted to fit with the surroundings.
This image shows ‘Untitled Vessel’ a fine art piece by Ray Allen, on display at the University of Michigan Museum of Art. I took this shot with my ultra-wide angle lens and I just liked the way the piece looked in the museum light. The raw image was rather dark, but I was able to brighten it considerably in Adobe Lightroom. I was able to use a combination of fill light and blacks to brighten the front of the piece which was rather dark in the raw image. I used Topaz Simplify on the background to give it less detail and to keep the focus on the artwork.
At this past weekend’s ‘Motor Muster’ held at Greenfield Village, the show displayed more than just automobiles. They had a nice collection of older scooters and motorcycles, and they had a great collection of bicycles from various decades. The image above is of a Schwinn, most likely from the 50′s (I neglected to take a picture of the info card, so I don’t have the particulars on this bike.) I did punch up the color a bit in the post.
